A pulp adventure in the jungle
Flight of the Amazon Queen is one of the most recognizable graphic adventures of the mid-1990s. Released in 1995 and developed by Interactive Binary Illusions, it puts the player in the role of Joe King, pilot of the Amazon Queen, whose apparently routine job quickly turns into a story of jungle danger, strange science, comic situations and old-fashioned serial adventure.
Joe King and classic point and click design
The game clearly belongs to the tradition of classic point and click adventures, with light dialogue, object-based puzzles and a lively comic tone. It never reached the same fame as the best-known LucasArts titles, but it has a strong identity of its own: Flight of the Amazon Queen is colorful, accessible and built around a pulp atmosphere that still makes it enjoyable to revisit.

How to play today
Quick setup notes
1. Log in to your Retro-Gamers.it account.
2. Download the package in your preferred language.
3. Extract the ZIP file into a dedicated folder.
4. Install ScummVM from the official project website.
5. Open ScummVM and choose “Add Game”.
6. Select the extracted Flight of the Amazon Queen folder.
7. Confirm automatic detection.
8. Launch the game from ScummVM.
Technical notes: ScummVM supports Flight of the Amazon Queen through the Queen engine. Compatibility is listed as excellent: according to ScummVM’s compatibility page, the game has no known issues. The packages included in this page are the English and French freeware floppy versions.
